  • Hello everyone!!

Wow, I cannot believe how hot it has been lately!!  Today and yesterday reached 98!!  We're getting some storms tonight, and it is going to cool things down for the rest of the week.  It will still be in the mid-80's, but I'd take that over what we've had so far this week.

The past two weekends were so much fun.  Last Saturday my brother and I went to the Dover Nationwide Series race.  The rain delay was not fun (it was about 3 hours), but it actually turned into a positive because when the rain had let up some we headed over to the Best Buy that is right behind the track and I was able to get one of those Wii Fit's that are so hard to find. LOL!  Earlier in the day, we had joked with people at one of the Best Buy tents asking them if they had any, and to our suprise they said there were some over at the store!  Anyhow, I though the race itself was kind of boring, but the Track Walk afterwords more than made up for it.  I was able to get Martin Truex Jr's autograph, and my brother got his picture with him, Regan Smith, Juan Pablo Montoya, Wendy Venturini, and Krissy Newman.

Then this past Friday, my mother and I went to Pocono Raceway for qualifying.  I didn't luck out so much with autographs (I just wasn't in the right place this year I guess), but I was very pleased with the quality of the photos I took of the cars that day.  I did end up with some autographs, including Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson, Regan Smith (got his twice by accident. lol), Bill Elliott, David Reutimann, and Michael McDowell.  If you want to see my photos, you can check them out here http://www.flickr.com/photos/colleen0313/

Enjoy the rest of your week.  Stay cool!

  • Hello, strangers.....long time, no chat!   I've always been bad at updating this thing but wow, I haven't posted since December??? oops

I got a promotion at work last month!!  I'm now working in Marketing & Promotions, which has been really cool so far.  I've always wanted to work in this area, so it was nice to have things finally work out....hard work does pay off in the end!

My vacation days were on hold because of some things going on at work, but after I got this position I was able to put in my requests finally.  I took days off in June, July, & November for Pocono, Daytona, & Homestead!  I'm really excited about Homestead because I've never been there before.  I will be going with my brother and cousin (who lives in FL).

I'm so glad baseball is back in full swing again!  My Orioles are doing surprisingly well, which is nice.  My hometeam Phillies aren't doing so great, but hopefully they start pulling things together soon.  I went to a game on Friday when the Mets were in town.  The Phillies ended up losing, but it was still a fun time.  David Wright almost hit for the cycle....that would have been awesome to see!  He is amazing!

Hope all is well with everyone!

  • Yes, I'm still here! hehehe Just been crazy busy, although it feels like December has been going on forever!

We had our Christmas party at work today.  We were able to bring family, so I brought my parents and my brother.  Everyone seemed to have a great time.  We didn't win any of the prizes they were giving away though! Boo!

I still have some shopping to do though.  I'm finished everyone except for my mom and one of my co-workers, so I'm not too behind at least.

  • I witnessed one of the saddest things ever on Saturday.  My dad and I were watching the Busch race, when all of a sudden, there was a loud boom that came from out front.  We live on a busy street, so accidents happen occasionally.  Anyhow, my dad and I ran to the front door to see what had just happened, and it turned out that a dog had just been hit by a car (the guy was doing about 40 in a 25)   The poor thing let out the worst cry that I've ever heard come from a dog.  He came onto our lawn and kept falling down. It was horrible.   It was so sad to see and I started to cry, so I had to go inside the house because I couldn't watch the dog while it was in that condition.  My dad and some of our neighbors waited outside for the police to come, but unfortunately the dog didn't make it.    The jackass who hit it almost left before the cops came too!  He seemed more concerned about his truck being damaged than the fact that he had just killed a dog!!   I felt so bad because the dog didn't have an ID tag on its collar, so there could be a family out there who is missing their dog and has no idea that he is gone now.

I did some shopping on Saturday morning which was nice.  JC Penney & Kohls had some good deals, so now I have some more fall/winter clothes (which will definitely come in handy this week, as the temps are going down!).

3 weeks from Wednesday my brother and I will be heading up to NYC for the Nascar Victory lap!! Woo hoo!! Then two days after that I will be heading down to Florida for vacation!  I cannot wait to see Disney World with all of the holiday decorations up!!!

Last, but not least, for the heck of it....a cool interview I found with the lovely David Wright

P.S. Can you guys let me know if my banner is showing up?  I just noticed that it doesn't display for me, which is weird.  I have to make a new one anyhow, but I just want to figure out if I screwed up one of the settings when I was playing around with the layout.

  •  Burney didn't make the race.

Oh well, it was nice to see you again Burney!  So glad the bowl cut is gone! hahaha!

Found this online and thought it was pretty funny.  I love Jimmy Kimmel Live!  I wish I was able to stay up to watch it more often.

Last but not least, GO RUTGERS!!
